52 Hike Challenge – Week 3

Saturday, January 19th

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail

Ralph Waldo Emerson

We had an absolutely peaceful hike today. On Friday night the snow began to fall. I was so excited because we really haven’t had any measurable snow this winter. A brown winter is kind of boring here in Wisconsin.

We only hiked 1.4 miles….but boy was it a workout trudging through 12 inches of fresh snow. What I loved most of all is you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. That is my happy place. So fun watching Chase bounding through the snow, looking for fresh wildlife trails to sniff. I tried really hard to keep up.

Have you joined me in this challenge this year? Where did you hike for week 3?
